What NOT to include in your skin- and haircare routine

What’s in a skincare routine? Many products on our bathroom shelves include long lists of ingredients impossible to understand for most.

Hiding behind fancy names are parabens (used as preservatives), silicones (used to give the perception of softening your skin) and synthetic fragrances (composed of many unknown toxic chemicals that can be harmful to you).

Although common, together these bad boys are a cocktail of allergens, endocrine disruptors and irritants. Here's what they do more specifically.

1. Parabens

Used as preservatives with the potential effect of hormone imbalance. Can be found in almost everything from your facial cleanser and creams to your deodorant.

2. Silicones

Used in a variety of cosmetics to soften, smooth and moisturize. Suspected endocrine disrupter and reproductive toxicant.

3. Sulfates

Essentially a strong detergent and is what makes your products foam, lather, and bubble.

4. Perfumes

Made up of many different and unlabelled ingredients. Essentially, a potential cocktail of allergens, endocrine disruptors and irritants.

Know what you put on your skin

Our cubes come with an ingredients list of four ingredients and are formulated of only natural ones. This is because we want you to know exactly what it is you expose your skin to, day in and day out.
